Brewer Buttress [ Sizes: Orig | Med | Small | Thumb ]
Brewer Buttress
Beta photo that caught an eagle in the frame (upper left). 11th Pitch- 35m- 5.6/ This pitch is a little airy, but has huge holds. Climb out right of the buttress to gain a wide crack. Climb the crack past a roof and a piton on the left. Continue easily up the crack system to a ledge and bolt belay on the left. The first part of this pitch is more difficult, than it eases up. Brewer Buttress, II, 5.6, Castle Mountain, Banff National Park, Canadian Rockies, August 30, 2006.

""You cannot stay on the summit forever; you have to come down again. So why bother in the first place? Just this: What is above knows what is below, but what is below does not know what is above. One climbs, one sees. One descends, one sees no longer, but one has seen. There is an art of conducting oneself in the lower regions by the memory of what one saw higher up. When one can no longer see, one can at least still know.""   --Rene Daumal
