Thanks for the post. Hard to say if the rainbow partially redeems the trash or if the trash degrades the beautiful sight. Nice play on the myth.

I’m inclined to support the redemption option. New Mexico (like everywhere) definitely has poverty and squalor, but it’s immensely rich in light and weather. Rainbows aren’t just for postcard scenes: they look great over a junkyard too!
