I just wanted to make a point that there aren't many trees - or timbered slopes - around it. To my surprise only a portion of the lake was visible from the summit, but this is exactly the side which we haven't photographed yet.

Note also the glades to the left of the lake ... I'd love to check if one of the dead hikers' pictures was taken from there in the direction of Mt Watson, but this will have to wait.
