Wheeler Peak from the Mather...
Wheeler Peak from the Mather Overlook to the NE on July 4, 2003. The long talus north slope of Jeff Davis Peak is at left. The forested hill in the foreground is where all the outstanding bristlecone pines are located but you've got to be willing to hike off-trail to see them. These pines put to shame those featured near the glacier moraine trail. An example of the bristlecones to be found on this hill can be viewed here.
