For some reason it makes me think of an oil spill (In a good way if that’s at all possible), is that weird?

Thanks, glad you liked it! An oil spill in a good way? Thanks!

It's like oil in the way that it scatters the light in many reds and turquoises as well as deep violets and blues.

Thanks Aaron, the Red Castle Lakes area is definately one of the more beautiful areas of the Uintas.

Way to move this area up on my list of places to go... Like I don't already have a full docket for a lifetime or two... or three..

Smiths Fork Pass Lake? East Red Castle Lake is in that nook behind the little hill.

At any rate, yes, it is difficult to describe beauty of the Smiths Fork area.

I've always wanted to visit this area, and you just made me want to even more. I enjoyed the rest of your fanstastic pics too. BTW, what camera do you use?

Thanks very much! I'm glad you enjoyed, this part of the Uinta's is definately one of my favourites. My camera is a Kodak EasyShare DX6400 4MP, it seems to give good colors but doesn't have a nice lens for sharpness.
