Thank you, and for the reference, too. I have to admit I know very little about art, but I do like landscape portraits, so maybe I'll check Hopper out.

there's plenty of stuff you maybe would like even more then -
look here: Landscape artists at natureartists.com
they paint realistic. If you find one that you like, just google her/him, and usually it shows up plenty
when you click on a painter, then use the link "artwork" and you'll see more of his paintings

I've sat right where that photo was taken from. That place is just awesome and your photo makes it seem out of this world.

Thank you! I used to have a vertical shot of this scene, showing the curve of the sandstone cliffs below the arch and deep shadows, but I lost both the photo and the negative (long story). Anyway, this is an awesome spot, and such a nice respite from the crowds usually all around the arch.
