| Mountain Goat on Quandary Peak | [ Sizes: Orig | Large | Med | Small | Thumb ] |
While I was descending Quandary Peak after my first winter 14er ascent, this guy casually walked by, seemingly oblivious to the snow and wind and quite comfortable. November, 2006.

Voted 10/10 | This is a fantastic shot. I topped out on Inwood Arete close to sunset and was greeted by a bunch of goats and their kids. Looks like this one has his fluffy winter coat. | | Posted Nov 29, 2006 4:55 pm |

Hasn't voted | Thanks! I have to admit, but I had my camera set on the black/white in the self progam setting. I have a Cannon Powershot A700. I cheked it out and, as far as I can tell, it does not give me a white balance option in that mode. I took a couple of color pictures in the "snow" setting and they were OK, but not as good as the black and white. Flipping it to black and white is just something I like to do occasionally and sometimes I luck out. Thanks again for the tips!

Hasn't voted | THANKS! That has to be one of the coolest things someone has said to me on this site. I have to admit all I did was point and shoot in the black and white mode and I got lucky. Thanks again.
