Ascending the loose slopes...
Ascending the loose slopes above Spiller Canyon en route to Twin Peaks Pass. The SE Slope Route of Matterhorn Peak is in the background (as well as a distant down valley shot of Eagle Peak).



Horse Creek Pass is the low point in the middle of the shot. From there, ascend the sandy slopes towards the summit. To keep the difficulty to class 2, angle left near the uppermost heart-shaped snowfield and follow the shadow line to the summit ridge. Follow the narrow ridge to the summit. (taken August 2003).
