Hasn't voted | Thank you Andrej! Actually that day the weather was very bad, it was raining and there was a very strong wind. I wanted to admire Jof di Montasio but it was covered by grey-black clouds. But the views of Monte Cimone and the Canin group were really unreal... | | Posted Jan 30, 2007 11:22 am |

Hasn't voted | Thank you for your beautiful words. I love this picture too, I think I had great luck to be there at that moment. But probably Monte Cimone it's not enough famous to become photo of the week...

Voted 10/10 | I think almost any mountain is beautiful in a way. Monte Cimone is simply great. An incredible N wall and NW wall above Sfonderat, a high SW wall, great panorama etc. And the nearby mountains - west of it. They are almost completely unknown. No literature, no guidebooks, no one knows how to get up there and except locals nobody knows anyone who had been up there. A complete wilderness, I guess.
And this shot is a masterpiece. You might say you did it by luck, but it doesn't matter. The colour, the mood, the mountain, like an ancient reptile and a mysterious light. You know - in a beautiful weather it's simple to make a nice picture. I like best those pictures, where the author has made a lot out of a motif, where nobody else would. And this is such an example. | | Posted Jan 30, 2007 10:00 pm |

Hasn't voted | You're right!! This mountain is a perfect example of how wild this places can be, far from everything and everyone. And I like this kind of pictures too, because you have just to be there and click, you don't need a super camera. Of course only a crazy man would go in a place like that when a storm is coming... | | Posted Jan 30, 2007 10:22 pm |
