Sunset at Island Lake (August 16, 2002). No filters or other camera tricks were used to take this photo. The reason everything looks so red is the smoke from the massive fires that were burning Mount Zirkel Wilderness at the time. (Mount Zirkel Wilderness is approximately 35 miles due west of Rawah Wilderness across North Park.) Hasn't voted | Thanks. I thought of you as I climbed this mountain because the northeast ridge looks like something you'd really like. Unfortunately on the day I summitted visibility was about 200 ft on the summit so I couldn't get any good photos of the ridge. | | Posted Sep 1, 2003 1:14 pm |
