Dove from west [ Sizes: Orig | Med | Small | Thumb ]
Dove from west
CP looks east to Dove Benchmark (the rightmost of the two peaks). We descended the valley between the two peaks, then went on to "North Castle Butte", a slightly higher peak north (left, and out of the picture). The final route to Dove BM involves perhaps 20 feet of class 5, over fragmented tuff conglomerate/breccia.

weeds1920 feet of 5.5 on poor rock

Voted 10/10

If there really is a BM on top of the highest point, that's quite a climb for the BM placing folks!

Hasn't voted

Most of the post-1954 benchmarks were set by helicopter crews. However, this one appears to have been climbed, from the survey report in 1956. They recommend a rope to haul up equipment.

The main benchmark was stolen, but there is at least one of the "witness" benchmarks left.
