Here's the same scene without the camera set to flash. Compare with this photo taken with flash. Though the flash was off in this case, I had the camera in my hand. There was just enough daylight to allow for a quick shutter speed to minimize blur. But later in the evening, holding the camera simply would not do. A tripod or rigid surface became necessary.
