The Amphitheatre on the...
The Amphitheatre on the southwest slopes of Precipice Peak, an enchanted place. The summit is well guarded by a maze of cliffs and hoodoos such as this, making for an interesting route. We're on the south side of this drainage. The skyline seen here is an alternate route for an ascent, but better suited for a descent. San Juan Mountains, Cimarron Range, Summer, 2003.

"Got tight last night on absinthe and did knife tricks. Great success shooting the knife into the piano. The woodworms are so bad and eat hell out of all furniture that you can always claim the woodworms did it."   --Ernest Hemingway
