Denali
This is about 19,000 ft and you can see a whole string of climbers all the way down to Denali Pass. The closest guy on the left is SPer Kurt Wedberg going for his 10th Denali summit. 12 June 2007

This was the first good weather day in over 2 weeks. Everyone was anxious after waiting for several days. I think there were about 100 people heading for the summit this day. The overall summit rate for Denali this year is well below 50%

That was by far the busiest day!! I can think of at least 10 people that I knew really well who summitted that day. The amazing thing was that the weather continued to be nice for at least three more days. I think the summit rate prior to the 12th could have been 25%, but for the 12 - 15th was more like 95%. Crazy how important timing is!

Congrat's on your summit 2 days after me. The weather IS key to tagging this big beautiful lady.
