| One of the most overcrowded summits | [ Sizes: Orig | Med | Small | Thumb ] |
Mont Blanc, Bosses ridge.
Summit isn't really seen on this picture but you can imagine how many people could be on the top if only one route to there is so overcrowded as a supermarket before Christmas.

Voted 10/10 | I didn't realise it is so crowded. I'm glad I've been there in September, perfect day and only about 30 people reached the summit on that day, it was nice.
I've heard they want to put toilets on the summit:/
cheers

Hasn't voted | It was overcrowded. We had to stand in a queue close to the top. If you see the summit region on this picture you can realize a lot of people there. | | Posted Aug 13, 2007 1:23 am |

Voted 10/10 | of when I climbed Mount Fuji back in 1972. But then that is considered a religious pilgrimage by the Japanese.
Actually, the French have even been considering making quotas for how many could climb Mont Blanc (the idea was rejected for the present). | | Posted Aug 5, 2007 6:12 am |

Hasn't voted | Yes, I heard about the restriction-plans. Maybe it was bad idea to reject them because this mountain is too popular and the crowd is very dangerous. You could hear about the arrant Grand-Couloir. There are many accidents because the people blocks each other and cannot go through enough fast and the falling stones hit them like on a bowling court. So it's a nightmare.
Anyway the mountain is beautiful and I love it but next time I try it on another route not on French-normal. | | Posted Aug 13, 2007 1:31 am |

Voted 10/10 | The whole summitpost membership on a collective day out, or what? :-)) | | Posted Sep 20, 2007 2:25 pm |

Hasn't voted | I think they were more people... :-) I felt myself like in a crowded supermarket. :-)
Poor Mont Blanc. | | Posted Sep 24, 2007 3:43 am |

Voted 10/10 | wow, they need some restrictions on that thing or build a two lane road. Never seen anything like it. The closest is this. I give it a 1/10 for the amount of desire I have to climb that route, but a 10/10 for capturing the moment. | | Posted Sep 26, 2007 2:09 am |

Hasn't voted | Thanks. I know the quality is not the best. | | Posted Sep 26, 2007 2:32 am |
| jck | Come on... | |
Voted 10/10 | ...that's horrible. I've climbed Mont Blanc two times by that route (2003 and 2004) in high season but there weren't so many climbers. The best thing I did was climbing the summit in the afternoon (about 2 p.m.)- nobody on the summit, the snow was't soft despite good weather.
You make me scared by this photo...
Anyway- very well captured!
Cheers

Hasn't voted | Thanks ! I was on Mont Blanc in 2005 too and there were less people but the weather was bad. | | Posted Nov 9, 2007 6:14 am |

Hasn't voted | You can bet it was changed since that. But it was totally different in 2005 too when I first time visited Mont Blanc. | | Posted Dec 23, 2007 6:07 am |
