| B-7 Pillar, Iceberg Wall, Mount Merritt, from Mount Wilbur... | [ Sizes: Orig | Med | Small | Thumb ] |
Large protruberance on the left is B-7 Pillar ( Iceberg Peak is barely out of the frame, further left); Mount Merritt, center, with Old Sun Glacier on its top; Ipasha (barely seen) is between B-7 and Merritt, and Natoas on the right. Interestingly, what looks to be an impressively pointed "peak" just behind and between Merritt and Natoas is not a peak at all, but part of a huge ridge. Portion of Iceberg Lake can be seen at bottom. Picture taken from about the 8,000 foot level on Mount Wilbur's north face. Photo by Vernon, July 18, 2007.

Hasn't voted | Thanks for your enthusiasm over this one, Bob! I like it as well, and interestingly enough, the photo was taken sometime during the early afternoon--usually not a good time for light. Picture was taken from the shoulder of Wilbur--a mountain you might well wish to do! (It's a technical climb, but not considered difficult.) | | Posted Sep 2, 2007 6:38 pm |

Hasn't voted | Wilbur is a technical climb, although not the most difficult in the park. You might wish to communicate with Fred Spicker, who has the page, and has climbed the mountain. Three months in Glacier? I'm more than a little envious!!!! | | Posted May 13, 2008 1:35 pm |

Hasn't voted | Agreedand I find that as the years pass, the addiction grows. It's 135 miles from my house to the West Glacier entrance. Never, ever, EVER, do I take GNP for granted! | | Posted Oct 12, 2009 1:36 pm |
