Grazie Fabrizio! Actually I have made so many Jalovec pictures on that day that I missed this one. Last week it rushed by on my screen saver and I thought: "wait a minute, what was that?".

I should pay more attention to my screen saver :-)

No, not recent - September 19th (as the caption suggests ;-)). We had a day of thunderstorms on Sept 18th when a real lot of rain and snow came down. Most of it melted away again but by the end of September another bad weather window deposited half a metre oof snow on the Julians.

Thanks Ejnar. I think it's the dark sky which gives you the impression. We usually don't see this type of sky at our elevations in the alps. A bit of snow and a polarization filter will do the trick, however
