Hasn't voted | Yours is also a good shot. I am looking forward to seeing it again this spring when I am going to do the SW Couloir. | | Posted Jan 6, 2004 5:04 pm |

Voted 10/10 | Great shot Martin, I like the snow in the pic, giving it that alpine look. How do you get a pic to show up like this (using the message route) ? That is neat and I still need to learn how to do some of these tech things. | | Posted Jan 6, 2004 7:01 pm |

Hasn't voted | Thanks Dean. You put in the less than symbol then img src="http:image.jpg" than the greater than symbol. It tells you how in the FAQ, which is at the bottom of the page. | | Posted Jan 7, 2004 10:35 am |

Hasn't voted | That's a fun route. I really liked the views up there early in the season. Go late April or early May. | | Posted Jan 7, 2004 10:36 am |

Hasn't voted | Thanks Paul, I knew you would know them. I don't have my Brown Beckey handy, but do you know if that steep ridge on Tower has a route on it. I remember staring at thing and saying "Oh, I've got to try that". | | Posted Jan 7, 2004 10:39 am |

Voted 10/10 | I think you meant Red Beckey. By the way, it's his birthday next Wednesday (82 years old). What did you get him?
If you're talking about the ridge at skyline-left on Tower, then it is more convoluted a structure than you think. Look at the fourth picture in the above link for Tower. That prominent buttress (SW Buttress) just left of center is known to have a route on it. My friend Mark (Iggy) has done it. It goes at something like 5.7. Maybe six or seven technical pitches and then scrambling. Mark once sent me a trip report for it. I think he recommended it, but Eric and I did the gully to the right of it (SW Gully).
Either way, it's an outstanding mountain that often seems to be overlooked, despite its 2900 ft of prominence. I'll make an sp.com page for it eventually. Give me a month or two because I'll be combining it with a page for Golden Horn too. | | Posted Jan 7, 2004 12:33 pm |

Hasn't voted | That's right. It is redish brown. I don't own the Brown one yet.
Hmm, that SW Butress sounds like fun. Looking forward to your pages... | | Posted Jan 7, 2004 1:17 pm |
