If you're talking about the ridge at skyline-left on Tower, then it is more convoluted a structure than you think. Look at the fourth picture in the above link for Tower. That prominent buttress (SW Buttress) just left of center is known to have a route on it. My friend Mark (Iggy) has done it. It goes at something like 5.7. Maybe six or seven technical pitches and then scrambling. Mark once sent me a trip report for it. I think he recommended it, but Eric and I did the gully to the right of it (SW Gully).
Either way, it's an outstanding mountain that often seems to be overlooked, despite its 2900 ft of prominence. I'll make an sp.com page for it eventually. Give me a month or two because I'll be combining it with a page for Golden Horn too. | | Posted Jan 7, 2004 12:33 pm |
