Ice Man Jerry VanI hope it stayed clear for the summit

Climbed the Grand Teton one winter in the 80's and was in a white out the whole time . I had been on the route several times and knew the way . Came down in head lamps was so glad to get to the hut on the Lower Saddle. The temp. was -25 F a sleeping bag never felt better. Still snowed for 2 more days had to watch for avalanches going down . A thought kept going through my head I could not have had a better time any where else, it was thrilling, chalenging, and I was completly worn out at the end of it all. Mark Twain made a quote one time " There is no greater joy than climbing a dangerous Alp. But it is confined to those who find joy in climbing a dangerous Alp". The joy I find in climbing beats sitting on a beacg in The Bahamas getting sand down my shorts, getting skin cancer and waking up with a rum hangover. May all your adventures take there and back agin with a grin and a story to tell.
