Air bubbles trapped frozen Loch vale
Air bubbles trapped in the ice of Loch Vale Lake.
The snow was blown off the frozen lake, reavealing a surrealistic landscape at our feet.

When I saw thumbnail thought what the hell is this, maybe flash shot in blizzard. Who would have guessed it is something amazing as this! Question immediately imposes how were they created? Maybe trapped in snow which later turned into ice. Never mind, no explanation is needed to conclude this is great shot :-)

Thanks, aleksandar. There are couple of us who want to back there and spend hours photographing this. It was amazing.



They were formed as the lake was freezing because someone was trapped underneath yelling "Help!" :-)

Thanks! I just rescanned the slide and uploaded an improved version. I think I'll head up there again this year and look for the same effect. It's amazing to see. Happy Holidays.
