Looking out from Piedra Grande as the clouds make islands of the peaks. (Does anyone know what the high one in the distance is? Supposedly it has a name but no one there could tell me it.)

Voted 10/10 | Brian, your photos are amazing.
The high mountain there to the north is Cofre de Perote, or just Perote. As with many mountains in Mexico, it has different altitudes attributed to it's summit. Most of them put it at over 14,000 feet. I have been wanting to climb it and almost did a couple years ago, but plans don't always work out. I would add it as a mountain on SP if i knew more exact information about it, and i was planning to obtain it on the trip that fell through. I am kind of surprised no one has added it to SP yet.
Great photos! =-) | | Posted Feb 14, 2004 2:16 am |

Hasn't voted | Thanks. That would be a great addition to SP if you added that one. | | Posted Feb 14, 2004 2:53 am |

Hasn't voted | Yes, this was from the hut at Piedra Grande just a hair under 14,000 (like 13,950 if I recall what my altimeter said). | | Posted Feb 22, 2004 6:58 pm |
