The "Sepulcher" on Sepulcher Mountain [ Sizes: Orig | Large | Med | Small | Thumb ]
The "Sepulcher" on Sepulcher Mountain
This is apparently the sepulcher, or tombstone-like rock, that gives Sepulcher Mountain its name. Certainly we didn't find any other likely candidates, though there are a fair number of other hoodoos in and around the false summit. The true summit, a couple of hundred yards to the west of the sepulchral summit, doesn't have any hoodoos on it.

The top of this rock lies well below both summits. Sepulcher is a walk-up, not a technical climb.

Photo taken in mid-June 2008.
