Another hardcore climber on...
Another hardcore climber on the summit with Keeler and Day Needles in the background. This marmot is quite possibly the only mammal living this high in the US but I see he has friends. Anybody else have pictures of this marmot that frequently pilfers off of hikers on the summit?

I saw this guys cousin at San Gorgino this past September...The little varmit was very persistant in his pack inspecting duties.

I think I've met his cousin on Gorgonio in August 2003 as well....but might have been a distant cousin since I think he was an oversized chipmunk.


I wonder if this guy on Whitney climbs via the Main trail or the MR? Maybe he tackles the East face route. Kinda reminds me of the movie "Groundhog Day" when Phil(the groundhog) was driving Bill Murry's truck.


Anyway cheers! Glad you all like this humorous photo! He is a persistent begger. Never left our site while we were snacking on the summit.
