Thanks - It isn't the taller of all the peaks nearby, but surely grabs one's attention as something that must be climbed.

back in the 80s. Fun little scramble. Took this picture from the top. The photo has stayed in my top 30 images on SP ever since (the quality really isn't that good). At the time of this posting, it is rated my second best photo! I highly recommend this brief scramble. Great fun, awesome view!

Yes, this peak and most of the San Juan Range have volcanic origins.
