to do this one in bad weather, all alone. Didn't make it.
And never saw what it really looked like till now. I was the only one in the hut. It felt pretty lonely.

Sorry you didn't make it Marc. I prefer to feel lonely on a mountain rather than crowded, but at those self-absorbed moments in my life it doesn't matter if I make it to the summit but I have an intense joy for living ( :

for your consoling words. I have abandoned many climbs due to having crowds on the route. On Monch I was mostly frustrated with weather, and also fearful of not finding my way back to the train station in a white-out. Thank God for a little compas and keeping a cool head I made it back without a problem.
