Martin's Route

...the may be a dumb question but I just don't know. I see the rope there with you do you ever use the rope to help you along going up or down or are you supposed to just leave it alone unless you fall? I've never used one before as I've haven't tried a climb yet this difficult...wow

Here, the terrain is rather easy so we were roped but didn't place any pro. In case of fall there were possibilities to stop the fall /i.e. using little rock towers on the ridge/. Higher up we were climbing normal pitches with belays. We had also few rappels.
There are no dumb questions, I guess.
