Thank you for your kind words. This photo would be a lot better if the Needle wasn't in a cloud shadow.

If I hadn't seen these peaks and been on them, I might think your picture was tilted. I'll have to get up Pico some day. You should get down to Colorado at the end of July. A group of Summitposters are going to be climbing Kit Carson.

I can see how people would think the photos are tilted, but they're really not (as you know).

The upper Cottowood Creek drainage is very nice and doesn't get much traffic. The lower part of the trail was pretty brutal when we were there. Lots of tree trunks accross the trail, wet willow thickets, and some route finding confusion.

Pico Asilado is a fine peak with excellent views. If you do go, stick to the ridge (class 2-3) rather than attempting the central gully, which has a tremendous amount of loose rock.

I am hoping to get back to CO near the solstice, for an attempt of the Little Bear -> Blanca Traverse.

Let me know if you want or need any beta on the Little Bear Blanca Ridge. I have some pictures posted on the Grand Slam section of the Little Bear page. It is an extremely fun ridge with some great exposure. No need for any climbing gear. I would recommend Little Bear to Blanca and get a very early start.
