Photo of the year! I don't think I've ever seen such a perfect lenticular cloud. And when I see them, I usually only see blue, and shades of grey. It's nice to see some green.
What a photo! | | Posted Feb 20, 2002 9:23 pm |

Hasn't voted | Don't miss that this is not my shot. Dennis Stilwell contacted me some time ago to see if I would be interested in contributing to his website, which I would like to do but haven't done yet. He's not a climber but a VERY avid hiker, so he isn't inclined to join us here. The other day he sent me this one and I asked him if he'd mind me posting it, to which he agreed.
The fun part about this is that I thought I recognized his name when he first e-mailed me. Sure enough he is in my college yearbook! :-)

Hasn't voted | I'm so happy to see such a perfect lenticular caught on Hood. Last week we got caught in one camped at Twin Rocks. As benign as it looks, the winds completely flattened our 4-season tent over about 6 hours and then broke some poles. We were forced out of our shelter around midnight and descended in a whiteout, despite standing being a struggle. Scariest experience of my life. | | Posted Jun 3, 2004 4:04 pm |

Hasn't voted | I wish I had Dennis's negatives again. With my new film scanner I could get much better results from them. I'll try to get with him sometime this winter and try again. He had several great photos, but they had too much contrast for the old scanner. | | Posted Dec 12, 2006 4:13 am |

Hasn't voted | Thanks for the vote and the comment. Dennis has some fantastic photos on his website and on his virtual hike CDs. This one is a good example. -Bob | | Posted Dec 23, 2006 4:19 pm |
