You should be able to get up there soon, it's melting out fast. I was up that way on Monday (6/7), and I didn't hit any significant snow until around 9,500', and that was just patches and drifts on northern exposures and in sheltered areas. The snow level is rising daily. So is the mosquito level.

What do you consider the furthest north "glacier" in the Sierra's? or even "permanent" snow-ice field.

Nice shot of that part of the Sawtooth. Those summits are very alluring in that aspect. I have climbed Matterhorn before, but this makes me want to go again. And now I want to expereince the top of the Dragtooth and the Doodad as well.
