Voted 10/10 | This is so beautiful shot, can't understand how it can be less than 4 stars for any taste. | | Posted May 25, 2004 7:50 am |

Voted 10/10 | It is a fantastic shot, but it's been sharpened a little too much and is starting to look bricky around the skyline. I realize this is a nitpick, but it does kind of detract from things. I still gave it four stars. | | Posted May 25, 2004 1:12 pm |

Hasn't voted | Yeah, I agree, but it was only sharpened once and minimally at that. I have gone back to the master tif (which prints very nicely at 7.5x10.5", my largest paper size for the moment) and played around with re-dimnensioning but cannot seem to rid the pic of that stuff. | | Posted May 26, 2004 9:03 pm |

Voted 10/10 | It may also be a factor of jpg quality. When you select the quality when converting to JPG, you're selecting how many terms of a Fourier transform to include. Lesser quality means you're leaving out some of the lower spatial frequency (bigger) terms and you can get brickiness. Typically 90% quality is about as good as you need, but many programs default to 75%. This makes the files smaller, but may make them look strange.
Still, it's a fantastic picture. | | Posted May 27, 2004 10:59 am |
