Younts Peak [ Sizes: Orig | Large | Med | Small | Thumb ]
Younts Peak
The highest thing in the Teton Wilderness, and, if it weren't for nearby Wall Mountain, probably the most stunning thing there as well. The route up involves a traverse across the enormous snowfield in the lower left, but hikers have worn a decent trail to the summit after that. 12 August 2009

I'm jealous you were here! This peak is a dream of mine since it's by some accounts the most remote peak in the Lower 48 and in my favorite range to boot!

Thanks! You were right about the area -- once you get past the pack trains, this is one lonesome place. Strangely, though, we ran into a couple other guys (and two grizzlies) on the summit. They seemed just as surprised as we were to find anyone out there! If I get the chance, I'll put up a page on this peak; it's a great one.
