This picture was taken right...
This picture was taken right in the end of the bristlecone forest area. It is the "last push" for the summit and I found this part to be the most difficult.

Did you happen to see the reminants of an old DC3 plane that smacked the mountain 3 decades ago? Just before heading to the summit from the south, you can still sift through tons of parts scattered on the hillside....

Hey, I just recently read your comment. Yah I saw it. It was kind of creepy. It was very windy and everything looked so deserted. The only living beings I could see (my husband was about 30 minutes behind me) were black crows scattered on the bold hill right under the peak where the metal pieces are. They just sat there without any noises and waited. Do they feed of of unsuccessful hikers?
