Close-up of the "dragonspine" from the west side of the summit of Glacier Peak. Northwest ridge route comes up the snow slope and accesses the ridge at the bottom center.

Hasn't voted | It would be very difficult to closely follow and traverse the ridge on either side of the spires. The south side is loose broken rock and very steep. The north side (the snowy side - and it's permanent snow) is also very steep. It's a lot easier to simply drop down to the bowl and then climb back up on the other side. Of coarse, if one wanted the experience and adventure of climbing the seven spires along the way, what could be better!?
