Koenigsspitze North Face in early morning light. Photo shot summer 2000 during an attempt at 'Hintergrat Ridge' to the Ortler. An attempt to Koenigsspitze would have been deadly this day: too warm and lots of impressive avalanches. We even got stuck at Ortler.

Hasn't voted | Yes, you are right. I have corrected the capture. The big corniche was called 'Schaumrolle' and certainly was the crux of the route. Isn't Hans Ertl one of the Nanga Parbat guys ?
