9/20/04: Heading up through Lulu Gulch to Browns Peak (right) just before the snowstorm hits. The yellow line is my approximate route up to the saddle before Browns. From there it was all straightforward to the summit of Browns and along the ridge crest to Huron. Nothing more than easy to moderate class 2.

to the Huron page. I was wondering about this part of the mountain. Did you drive this? Could you drive it if you had a stout 4wd?

Andy,

Thanks. No, I actually only drove from the South Winfield Trailhead to where the dirt road breaks off to the left. However, I saw recent tire tracks almost all the way up to this point (where the picture was taken), so yes it can be driven with a 'stout' 4wd. Be aware, the road is very rough, steep and washed out in places. It actually crosses Lulu Gulch and continues with a series of switchbacks all the way up to the summit of Point 12,622, to the north.
