A more detailed image of Mount Sparrowhawk, 3,121 metres. (central tallest peak) Its approach is on the right hand (west) slopes. Was a contender for the Ski hill for the 1988 Calgary Olympics but lost out to Mount Allen. You can see its western slope is great for skiing. August 18, 2004. William Marler, Nikon Cool Pix 5000.

What a shot William, so beautiful and amazing looking mountain! Thank God they didn't pollute it with cable cars or lifts! I'm quite radical when it comes to preserving nature so if you ask me those that want to ski should carry their skis to the top of the slope :-) Most beautiful parts of Alps are packed with ski centers, pillars and cables, it is disgusting. I guess to 99% of the people untouched mountains or nature in general is just an awful waste of space, damn!

I agree. To ski this peak you have to climb it. Lets hope it stays that way. Cheers William

Hey man, nice to find your comment here. I travelled the Canadian Rockies in 1992 and 1995 and I was overwhelmed by their beauty. For me at that time a dream came true. Majestic mountains and lots of wild animals...a combination you will hardly find in Europe. When I think of Aleksandar the Great taking pictures of these mountains the way he did so far in other areas I am really thrilled ;-). One day IŽll be there again...
