This photo was taken Oct. 28, 2004 at sunset from the Wet Mountain Valley. A storm was building over the central Sangres and the sun was sending rays across Mt. Adams in this pan from Colony Baldy to Horn Peak.

Thank you. I think the Sangres are rather magical and I feel lucky to be able to occasionaly point a camera at them!

JonBradfordThis is a gorgeous photograph.

The Sangres are so narrow and so straight rising above the Wet Mountain Valley and the San Luis Valley... In that respect they realy make a nice backdrop.This shot reminds me of some of the early american romantic painters with their depictions of the pristene wilderness of North America lit by an idylic light streaming through the clouds.
