I once asked a friend who has been to the Vowell Group what the climbing there is like. He said, "If the Bugaboos are a 10, the Vowells ane a 9." If you've been to the Bugs, you'll probably agree they're a 10. This the view that greets you when you reach the Bugaboo - Crescent saddle under the NE Ridge. It's so danged early because we'd come here the day before and found two parties head of us, and the second party was already getting impatient with the first. So this morning time we left Kain Hut an hour before daylight and enjoyed a fine day.
