Rauchkofel summit view to the east: Gamskofel (2526m), Reißkofel (far back, 2371m), Polinik (2332m), Elferspitz (2254m), Laucheck (2156m) and Köderhöhe (2228m). The picture has been stiched from two "unrelated" pictres I took on the summit. I only found out much later that they fit together. Sept 19th 2004

Hasn't voted | I saw your profile and the collage of photos. I was wondering: what software do you use to edit photos into a collage while keeping their resolution high? I have been using Jasc Paintshop Pro without success. Thanks for your help.

Voted 10/10 | One problem that you may run into while attempting to make collages is the nature of jpeg files--as you resize them or save them repeatedly they become progressively lower quality. You might want to try to work with another file type. | | Posted Dec 31, 2004 7:20 pm |

Hasn't voted | I used several programs to do this colage. - I'm using Mozilla as a browser and you can neatly drag and drop the pictures into Powerpoint.
- There I adjusted them just as I wanted.
- Next step was grouping the pictures into a single object and copy this object to Photoshop.
- I cropped the uneven edges and inserted the text, reduced to 650 x ... (before it was 950 x ..) and sharpened the resulting picture a little (unsharp mask command).
Et voilà!
Hope it helps... | | Posted Jan 1, 2005 3:18 am |

Hasn't voted | Thanks for the suggestions. I thought about trying Powerpoint for dragging and dropping, but I wanted to keep the resolution fairly high. I will give it a try. Thanks again!

| Deleted User | Full automatic stitching programs | | Hasn't voted | Although I'm not a climber, I do work quite a lot with stitching software. One of the easiest software products on the market right now is available on www.panoramafactory.com. It fixes great panoramas in no time.
Also check out www.panoramas.dk. Under the menu "Software" you can find excellent tools. | | Posted Jan 6, 2005 5:08 am |
