Mama Tembo hams it up in a Barranco Valley groundsel ( Senecio Kilimanjari) forest.
Our guide Maiko wonders if this is a new manifestation of altitude illness.
Notice the clean (and matching) shoelaces, three days into our hike!

Hasn't voted | Thanks Aleksandar! Kili was a great trip, and these forests were one of the highlights for sure. The weird shapes are reminiscent of the saguaro cactus of the American southwest, and interestingly both are lands of extreme environments. | | Posted Mar 10, 2005 9:55 am |

Hasn't voted | Not a Lobelia, but a Senecio Kilimanjari.

Voted 10/10 | You are right and I was confused. It´s a plant very similar to Senecio adnivalis that grows in Ruwenzori.
