August 2002 ascent of the NW ridge of Chopicalqui in the Cordillera Blanca, Peru.
Poor snow conditions had turned what was supposed to be a 3 day ascent into a 7 day near-epic on meager rations.

Hasn't voted | I dunno, but it was a long way down! Check out the great photo of Chopicalqui from Pisco Basecamp (submitted by crevis), and you can see just how far down it is. My picture is along the knife-edge ridge leading up to the tiny, pointy sub-summit. | | Posted Apr 4, 2005 12:50 pm |

Voted 10/10 | It reminds me the film Touching the void... Scary, horrendous, nightmarous... but great. Perfect shot and I´m happy you are alive after that climb! Cheers Tomas. | | Posted Oct 18, 2006 9:17 am |
