Re: a cute pup!

Thank you Radek. Haley was a cute and very smart pup. She lived to be nearly 17 years old, if you can believe that. She spent a night on top of White Mountain Peak, 14,300 feet with me. No sleeping bags or tents for either of us. Wind blew all night, and what little water we had froze. She could have left and found her way down the mountain, but she satyed with me. Never been able to replace her. You have a pup and you understand what I'm talking about.
Haley says, thank you for the visit and the vote.

Re: a cute pup!

Marc - I missed the header on your photo....really sorry to hear she's not with you any longer. What a shame their life spans are so much shorter than ours! Yeah I can relate...we've had ours for 8 years now...really have come to think of life as "the 3 of us". Feel your pain. Regards.

Re: a cute pup!

With any luck, and all the outings Blondie is getting, she will live another 9 or 10 years. You have many more years with her to cherish.
Thank you for the sentiments,

Thank you Larry,
Haley's looking down from Doggie Heaven and smiling how famous she has become.

when did you loose her?

She looked so beautiful... I am afraid of that moment with my dog...

Re: when did you loose her?

Oh, Liba, you shouldn't even think about the day you may lose Duchess. I lost Haley about ten years ago, and haven't had the heart to replace her. She went everywhere with me . She even bivyed with me on top of a 14000 foot mountain over night. She was smarter than some people I know. Ah, don't get me started.
Thanks for finding this photo, Liba.

Re: when did you loose her?

My dog climbed with me over 40 fourteeners in Colorado, but last summer I had to start to carry down, and she was limping for a week... I think at the age of 11, she is slowing down. We slept with Duchess in a snow cave, camped out so many times alone, or in the car. I cant' imagine her leaving..... I am sure you miss Haley, and you will never forgot her. I hope I did not bring any sad memories...

Re: when did you loose her?

No, no sad memories. The memories are all good.
I had to carry Haley down the mountain once. Like Duchess, she couldn't walk for a week. After that, I took her for shorter hikes.

A beauty

You stated "the best hiking buddy I ever had." and probably the best looking one (excepting your wife of course).
