Summit Tent City!  Sucess!

I as surprised to find, upon hiking up from Cosby and working my way up through the trees of Inadu Knob, to find a dozen tents at the summit! The tents, including a massive cook tent surrounded by bear wire, belonged to the Rocky Top club doing trail maintenance on the AT. A big Thank You to these guys!

From Cosby  Sucess!

A long day hike. Started at Cosby, hiked Gabes Mountain Trail to Maddron Bald Trail to Snake Den Ridge to AT. From the AT I headed south then bushwacked to what I sincerely believe to be the actual summit of Inadu Knob. Descended via Snake Den Ridge.

Route Climbed: The Maddron Bald Trail. Date Climbed: 10-11-2004  Sucess!

This was a very tough, but rewarding hike. Hit the trail very late (1pm) and made the 16.4 mile round trip in 5 & 1/2 hours. Lots to see, and I wish I'd had more time to enjoy it all.
