| Started at Borrego Palm Canyon, went up Indianhead's South Ridge to the summit, then continued NW along the ridge to Palm Mesa (Pt. 4,660). Went down Palm Mesa's SW ridge back to Borrego Palm Canyon and followed that down to the car. Fun day with hvydrt. | |

| Climbed the peak via the supposed standard route. We climbed a ridge about 3 miles from the trailhead to Borrego Palm Canyon. Fantastic weather and views. Great sustained class 2 with some class 3 if you stay on the summit ridge. | |

| Ascended next major ridge west of SE ridge (South Ridge?) that took me up directly to the chin of the Indian's head. At that point the 3rd class I had enjoyed here and there apparently turned into some extended 5th class work so I escaped East and scrambled the rest of my way to the south summit. I then walked over to the main summit, descended to the first major saddle to the west, and down south over steep slopes to the wash below, eventually hooking up with Palm Wash. Got dark on me about an hour from the car. | |

| Hiked there and back via the Palm Canyon trail as described by Schad. The terrain at start of the steep climbing was very loose, otherwise not too bad. We took our sweet time and finished in 9hrs. Beautiful, breezy and cool for this late in spring. Saw bighorn sheep on our way out near the start of the campground trail. | ||

| Hiked up southeast ridge with a couple of friends, up to the false peak where we watched the sunset. Broke out the flashlights for the downclimb. We took the southern chute. | |

| I succeeded in climbing Indianhead. I climbed up through the south-east chute, it's 1 mile into BPC then turn right. There was one very scary class-4 dry waterfall section. The next earthquake we have could make that section impassable without climbing gear. I came face to face with a big horn sheep. I made the summit for lunch then, down-climbed the traditional route to the north ridge and exited near the second grove of palms in Borrego Palm Canyon. The traditional route has some very scary sections that will take your breath away. Be very careful. | |

| I went for the direct assault path I climbed 2000' in under a mile but unfortunately I went up the wrong chute. Ultimately I was marooned on a ridge where I could not ascend any further nor return the path I came from. I had to bail off the mountain via an unknown route. I descended on the north east side going down a different chute. The descent was far worse than going up -2000' in under a mile is very hard on the quadriceps. See my Elevation Profile | |

| Climbed up from Borrego Palms Canyon. Did not go far enough into the canyon. Took the wrong gully up and climbed pretty much straight up from the west to the peak. Great climbing though!! Class 3 with some Class 4 sprinkled in!! Descended northwest to the saddle, took a gully back down and then followed the Canyon back to the TH. The place was packed when I got back to the first palms stand!! What a day!! Tough but beautiful!!My pictures from Indianhead and Borrego Palms Canyon | |
