Inside Shimenguan Gorge

This shot by my friend Matt helps give the idea of just how extensive Shimenguan is. the huge, sunlit wall is the northern aspect of the gorge entrance. We were about 1 km from the wall itself, and the river gorge keeps on winding with massive gneiss walls erupting 200-300 meters (in some places even higher) for kilometers into the gorge. There is certainly potential for multipitch trad.
