Intermittent Pond

The lee sides of the Indiana Dunes include a number of seasonally intermittent ponds, with plants that have evolved to succeed in places that are alternately wet and dry. They also have a lot of frogs, which is unusual in this world of disappearing amphibians. Photo taken September 2007.
