This ski-route begins in a wood which is a National Monument for 500 years old trees (more than 50 elements). Climb the wood at the begin of "Vallone dell'Invergnan". A first hour is enough steep to enjoy the plateau of Alp du Mont Forciaz (2180 m., 1h30min).
Another steep step, allow to pass a narrow gully (main river flows under it) and gain elevation enough to reach a wide flat field, where begins the enormous morain of Invergnan glacier (2h30min).
It takes about 20 minutes to cross the long plateau and to reach first sweet slopes onto Giasson glacier. As getting close to Colle di Giasson, slopes begin to raise always more until pass is reached (ab. 3h30min).
From pass to summit a long and easy traverse brings easily to the top (4 hrs).
Very interesting could be the traverse from Rifugio Bezzi to Giasson, down to Usellieres Do not trace this hike in opposite sense! A long and boring descent on a flat unpaved road will wait for you, before arriving in Uselliere.
If you stay at Rifugio Bezzi for a night and want to come back to Usellier (... if your plains are not Grande Sassiere or Grande Traversiere, of course), you can follow this direction. Hike the steep slope from Hut to "Piano di Vaudet". Head to NE direction, looking for San Martino lakes basin. Turn full E to the main ridge, then NE again, marching between left morain and San Martino glacier. It's very easy to get at Colle di Giasson from there.
Both two routes required good visibility, expecially from Bezzi to Col di Giasson. Ski mountaineering hike on glaciers! Take care of crevasses!
Classic alpin gear for ski-moutaineering.
