Halfway up the long approach ridge, a snowstorm begins. Mackay fades in and out like a ship in the mist. Trudging along around the large horseshoe ridge. Notwithstanding the atrocious weather, this was a interesting climb. My guess is the views on a clear day would be quite nice.
Second Time's the Charm Date Climbed: Aug 24, 2014
After an unsuccessful attempt last October, I returned to finish what I had started. Couldn't see anything at the top because of the clouds, but last year's photos made up for it. Only mountain I've climbed that's made my legs sore, this is one grueling climb.
BoiseDoc and I did this in winds exceeding 50mph in the gusts. Made for lots of work. That's November for you!
