During the last day of the Kepler track you'll pass some boggy wetlands. Undisturbed waters as smooth as a mirror with legions of dragonflies patrolling over its surface provide a fascinating scene.

Speaking of scenes: the "dead marshes"-scenes of the Lord of the Rings movie have actually been filmed here.

	Hasn't voted	Thanks for the comment! Yes, the alpine section is what makes the track really special..! Especially the last bit, where you can already see the rainforest below and still have some good views into the Fiordland wilderness. Luckily we had good weather on the ridge, albeit a bit windy.
