Jôf di Montasio / Montaz

[ Sizes: Orig | Med | Small | Thumb ]
Jôf di Montasio / Montaz
From the summit of Jôf di Sompdogna / Krniška glavica you have the giant north wall of Montaž just in front of you. But to see it in best light conditions, you should reach the top early in the morning. Now it's noon, and details in the wall can be hardly seen. In the middle, where the snow field reaches highest, there's the entry of the famous Kugy route. More towards the right the ferrata of 'Italian hunters' goes (Via Amalia). It reaches the shoulder on the right, where the Big Ledge continues over the west face. But it's still a long way to the top from there.
